Today we said goodbye to Switzerland and continued our travels to Germany. We managed to visit four countries in one day by leaving Switzerland, stopping in Liechtenstein, driving through Austria, and arriving in Germany.
On a serious note, Saint Raphael Academy began our time in Germany by visiting and paying respects to those who suffered at the hands of the Nazis in the Dachau concentration camp during World War II. While there are not words to describe the travesties committed, nor to explain the impact it had on those who attended the memorial, our students were reminded that they are the future and of the power they hold to be a positive force in this world. Everyone represented Saints in a meaningful way, and walked away from the experience with new outlooks on our lives. We were honored to have been able to witness such a powerful part of world history and look forward to continuing our journey in Munich.
