Why SRA?

Our teachers don’t just teach… They empower.

We are a Lasallian, Catholic, co-ed, college prep high school with a rich tradition of excellence in teaching and learning on a historic campus dating back to 1924. With a 13-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio, a population of approximately 450 students and an 8-building campus, we are a school that is ideal in so many ways. We are large enough to offer a myriad of opportunities, but small enough such that every student is known and cared for, receiving a high level of individualized attention.

Our students thrive in a challenging, yet supportive academic environment using a curriculum that is designed to educate, inspire, challenge, and most importantly prepare our scholars to be college ready. Our teachers don’t just teach… They empower. They strive to find ways to engage our students to reach their highest academic potential. Rooted in Christian values, the Lasallian experience at Saint Raphael Academy prepares young men and women for lives dedicated to achievement, leadership, faith, and service to the community. Life at the Academy is rooted in community – built in and out of the classroom. Students are encouraged to pursue their passions on the playing fields, in the arts, or in any of the extensive list of extracurricular options.

Saint Raphael Academy is exceptional. We believe that as you become familiar with us, you will agree. We encourage you to explore our school website to learn what we have to offer, from academics and athletics, to spirituality, performing arts, clubs and activities. As you learn about our campus, our mission, and what it means to be a Saint, we know you’ll want to be part of this amazing community of learners, teachers, parents, alumni and supporters. Together we make up the Saints family. And we look forward to welcoming you to our family!

Visit Our Campus

One of the most distinct features of the Academy is our campus-style school located in the historic, residential neighborhood known as the Quality Hill District of Pawtucket, RI. Academy students do not remain in the same building all day for their classes; instead, our scholars walk across campus going from building to building in between classes, much like at a college or university.

The SRA Admissions Office hosts a number of events in the fall to introduce prospective families to our unique campus and to our warm and welcoming community. Come experience what life is like at Saint Raphael Academy!

Tuition & Financial Aid

Saint Raphael Academy understands that the total cost of a Catholic, college preparatory high school experience is a significant investment and requires sacrifice. But the opportunities the Academy provides today and the benefits your child will experience tomorrow are invaluable.

Tuition for the 2024-2025 academic year is $14,550, which includes a $500 registration fee due annually. (Rates for international students vary; students should contact Admissions for more information.) Included in the cost of tuition is a laptop computer for student use throughout all four years and comprehensive insurance on the device. This avoids the need for families to purchase a computer for their student.

The Academy community is known for its dedication and desire to aid members of our family. To that end, feel free to contact the Business Office with any questions you may have regarding the financing of your child’s education at the Academy. Questions regarding financial aid may be directed to Richard Cipolla, CFO, at 401-723-8100 x 111 or email cfo@saintrays.org.

Our financial aid program is designed to help families bridge the gap between their own financial resources and the cost of a Saint Raphael Academy education. There are three types of aid available:

Academic scholarships are awarded by the Academy to the applicants with superior performance on the entrance exam and a strong academic record. Recipients of these awards will be notified in their acceptance letters. Students who take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) at the Academy will receive priority consideration for merit aid. All applicants will be considered; there is no need to submit a separate application.

All incoming freshmen students who have graduated from a Rhode Island Catholic elementary school are offered a tuition credit of $1,500 per year. The tuition credit is available all four years if the student remains in good academic standing and maintains good conduct. There is no need to submit an application.

Approximately 75 percent of our student body is currently receiving some amount of need-based financial aid. Saint Raphael Academy utilizes the services of FACTS to help determine a family’s eligibility for financial aid. Funds come from Saint Raphael Academy and the Diocese of Providence, not FACTS (FACTS simply helps to assess a family’s ability to pay).

Decisions regarding financial aid are separate from admissions decisions and are made by the Business Office after careful review of all information provided in the financial aid application. We seek to make the Academy experience possible for the greatest number of families. Demand for financial aid outweighs our available funds, however, so it is not possible to meet all families’ needs in full.

To be considered for need-based aid, applicants must complete an application with FACTS Tuition Management. Families can file an application with FACTS for the 2024-2025 academic year after November 1. If an application is completed by the priority deadline of December 31, and if your student is accepted, you will be notified of the financial aid award with your acceptance letter at the end of January. It is important that an application be completed no later than mid-February, as the availability of aid sharply decreases after that due date.

To begin the application, visit the FACTS website: https://online.factsmgt.com/signin.aspx (Note: You will need to upload your 2022 federal tax returns and W-2 forms. Once your 2023 taxes have been submitted, you must log back into your account and upload the new documentation.)

Financial Aid for Returning Students

Financial aid awards are for one year only. Returning students must reapply to be considered for financial aid in future years. Provided that returning students file their aid application on time, and there is no material change in the family’s financial circumstances, SRA will do its best to maintain awards in future years. Returning student families will be notified when it is time to re-submit a FACTS application for the following year.
