Our Leadership

Mr. Daniel Richard, B.A., M.Ed.

Principal/Head of School 

Mr. Richard began his leadership at Saint Raphael Academy in 2012. Prior to that, he spent many years in the classroom teaching history and science courses and was also a pilot in the United States Air Force for 22 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Westfield State University and a master’s degree in education from Long Island University. Additionally, he has taken further coursework at the University of Colorado and Providence College, and he is pursuing his doctorate in educational leadership from Johnson & Wales University. Mr. Richard enjoys running and was an All-Conference athlete in both high school and college. He has run in several marathons and often assists with coaching students on the SRA track team.

Mrs. Judith Baxter, B.S., M.Ed.

Vice Principal of Academics 

Mrs. Baxter serves as Vice Principal of Academics at Saint Raphael Academy, a role she has held for 13 years. She earned her undergraduate degree from Plymouth State University and her master’s in administration and curriculum from Rhode Island College. Mrs. Baxter began her career teaching social studies and English at Coventry High School, later becoming the English curriculum director and department chair. She also served as curriculum director for Warwick Public Schools before joining Saint Raphael Academy. Mrs. Baxter is passionate about working with students to improve their academic performance and help them reach their full potential. In her free time, she enjoys attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Mr. Mitchell Carvalho, B.S.

Vice Principal of Student Life

Mr. Carvalho is a graduate of Curry College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in school leadership at Providence College. The 2025–2026 school year marks his fifth year as a member of the Saint Raphael Academy community. Prior to transitioning into school administration, he served as a physical education teacher. As an undergraduate, he competed as a Division III collegiate baseball player and is now the assistant coach of the SRA boys baseball team. Mr. Carvalho is committed to forming and maintaining positive relationships while teaching respect and accountability, with the goal of supporting students’ success as they navigate young adulthood.

Mrs. Morgan Gallagher, B.A. M.Ed., MAEL

Assistant Vice Principal of Academics 

Mrs. Gallagher began her teaching career with the Diocese of Providence in 2003 and previously taught French at The Prout School while completing a B.A. in French at the University of Rhode Island. She went on to earn a B.A. in English from the University of Rhode Island and M.Ed. in Advanced Studies for Teaching and Learning at Rhode Island College. She taught 12th grade English and served as the English department chairperson at Saint Raphael Academy for 12 years. Mrs. Gallagher recently earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Notre Dame and assumed the role of Assistant Vice Principal of Academics during the 2025-2026 school year. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and reading historical fiction.
