Saint Raphael Academy’s student-athletes are closing out one of the most successful fall seasons in recent memory with a combined 11 post-season games and three more championships! All our student-athletes played exceptionally well and were prime examples of good sportsmanship.
Girls Soccer
With Saint Raphael Academy celebrating 50 Years of Women along with its centennial, it seems almost destined that our girls sports teams would do something spectacular!
Not only did the girls soccer team win 4-3 against Exeter-West Greenwich for the Division III state title, but they did so backed by an unbeaten conference record of 19-0. It was quite a difference from last year, when the team didn’t even make the playoffs. This is their first state title in 16 years.
Ranked as the number 1 seed in the playoffs, the team successfully took out the competition, game-by-game: Providence Country Day, Narragansett, and then EWG. They completed the season with 21-1 record overall and 21-0 in Division III.
We say goodbye to seniors Janjay Barnard, Karina Contreras, Dazayah Cosme, Brianna Deschenes, Maylan Fernandes, Skylar Koscielski, Stephanie Sassi and Paige Troiano.
