Over the years, Saint Raphael Academy campus improvement projects enhance our facilities, provide a more dynamic learning environment for our students (especially meaningful with our STEAM curriculum), and contribute to the overall beauty of our campus.

The administration completed many projects on campus this year, often with generous donations from alumni and grant funding from local foundations.

We are grateful to our donors and the administration for the tireless work they do to keep SRA’s facilities updated and safe. Here’s a snapshot of some of the things we’ve been working on this year. Read on!

Chemistry Lab

The chemistry lab was upgraded and the room layout was reconfigured to meet current standards in classroom design and to accommodate additional students in class. The room was gutted over the summer and since then has received a new paint job, flooring, a whiteboard, ergonomic and chemical-resistant tables and stools, and a new sink. The layout is more comfortable for students, and each table has several electrical outlets for charging devices.

SRA extends its thanks to the Navigant Credit Union Charitable Foundation and the Simon W. Wardwell Foundation for their contributions to this renovation!

Theater Dressing Rooms

The dressing rooms were in woeful shape for some time. The space received a much-needed makeover, including painting, new sinks and updated fixtures.

We are grateful to estate of Vernon Stromberg ’60 for his generous contribution to the updating of the theater. The Drama Club is especially happy to use a great space for their upcoming production!

White Building Upper Classroom (ECL)

This classroom needed a little TLC, and it was renewed with a clean paint job, new flooring and furniture, a cozy alcove with group seating for a more relaxed teaching space, and a special retractable wall to separate these spaces as needed.

Special thanks to Paul Guevremont, dad of Paul ’21 and Hannah ’24 for doing the construction on the space.

Additional Projects

The East parking lot was repaved with a new surface, and the basketball court floor in Alumni Hall had its annual epoxy coating applied.

A new commemorative bench was added to the west side of campus, courtesy of the Class of 1966, in addition to the family and friends of Steve Walach ’66. It is situated outside the White Building, where students can take a minute’s respite in the warmer months and enjoy the green space.
