Saints went straight into their tour upon arrival (and trying to catch up on sleep). Our travelers met their tour guide today, who took them to points of interest in Madrid. They visited Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and Mercado de San Miguel. Also scheduled was a visit to the Prado Museum, a 200-year-old national art museum that features a collection of Spanish, Italian, French and Flemish paintings, as well as prints and photography, sculpture and decorative arts. One of the highlights of the museum is Rogier van der Weyden’s “Descent from the Cross.”
