As with previous years, Saint Raphael
Academy maintains a "no cell phone" policy,
students who use their phones for ANY reason
(this includes, but is not limited to,
calls, two-ways, and text messaging) during
the school day (between 7:45am and 2:09pm)
will have them confiscated for a period of 2
weeks. If you need to contact your child
during the school day, please call the main
office at (401)723-8100. This will help
eliminate confusion.
Parents or guardians should call the
Academy's Attendance Office at extension 45
if you know your child will be absent from
school on a particular day. We ask that you
make these calls prior to 9:30 am.
Students should arrive to their homerooms
prior to 7:55am. Tardy students who arrive
after 8:10 should report, with a note, to
the West Building Office for admittance to
class. Students must have a valid excuse and
parent note for lateness. Students with
neither will face disciplinary consequences.
A student late to school 4 times in one quarter will
receive 1 detention
A student late to school 8 times in one quarter will
receive 2 detentions
A student late to school 12 times in one quarter will
receive Saturday detention
A student late to school 15 times in one quarter will
receive In-school Suspension
A student late to school
18 times in one quarter will receive In-school
Suspension until a parent has a meeting with the
Assistant Principal and student present
(Oversleeping is not an excusable reason for
lateness.)
In keeping with our existing policy,
students will be permitted 3 Early
Dismissals per Academic quarter. A parent or
guardian note acknowledging an early
dismissal must be received by either office
by 8:10am. Male students should be clean shaven EVERY
DAY (no mustaches, goatees, beards, or other
facial hair will be permitted). The hair
length of any male student should not reach
below the TOP of his shirt collar.
These requirements are outlined, in detail,
in the
2010-2011
Student/Parent Handbook that
will be distributed to students during SAINTS
orientation days. Please read the handbook carefully
then sign the contract page and have your child
return it to his/her homeroom teacher before Friday,
September 5th .
Thank you for your cooperation and support. |
