National Foreign Language Week 2013
On March 13, 2013
A two-week exchange program with two Lasallian schools in Spain is being offered in April 2014. Students will visit and attend schools in Santiago de Compostela and Barcelona, Spain. The program is open to any student who studies Spanish or who speaks Spanish.
The first informational meeting for interested participants and their parents will be Thursday March 14th at 7 p.m. (immediately following Parent/Teacher conferences) in the Multipurpose room.
An informational brochure about the exchange program can be found here: Student Exchange Program 2014 Brochure.
Not only was last week SAINTS Olympics week, it was also National Foreign Language Week (NFLW).
National Foreign Language Week is an annual, nationwide celebration, and the theme of this year’s NFLW is “Foreign Languages: They Nourish the Brain!”
During the week, our Foreign Language Department had many activities planned for our students, including announcements being made each morning by different faculty members greeting the students in different languages, a poster contest, a foreign word contest, and in-class activities with games, food, and trivia contests.
Due to a busy March calendar, the festivities for NFLW will continue throughout the month of March, with a Multicultural Activity being held after school in the East Cafeteria on March 27.
