The Gala Chorus is an auditioned group of students who come together during spring semester to perform at the Spring Gala. Music themes can range from Broadway to movies, popular music, and more. A crew is formed to create sets, lighting, and sound for a dynamic two-night performance. Not only does the entire group perform numbers together, but students can also form small ensembles or prepare solos for the event as well.
- Spring semester only. Meets Mondays 4:00 – 6:30 and Thursdays 5:00 – 7:00
This instrumental group is open to all student members of the Saint Raphael Academy community who are proficient in reading music and already perform on an instrument. (private lessons are preferred, but not required) To be a member of this group, students must audition on their main instrument testing their musical potential. Specific details regarding the audition will be discussed in the beginning of September. The instrumentation of this ensemble will be based upon auditions. In past years, this ensemble has performed jazz, rock and traditional concert band music. Venues for performance will be based upon the instrumentation of this group.
- Meets Mondays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30.
In addition, Chorus and Guitar are offered as classes in the 2016-2017 academic year. Students may elect to take the classes for a semester or a full year.
