SRA Football Program
The St. Raphael Academy football program has a long and storied history. The program has won 15 state titles and appeared in 11 Super Bowls, winning 7, since the Super Bowl format was instituted in 1972.
The program is led by Mike Sassi ’86, who is entering his 19th season as head coach. He has been named Nike Division II Coach of the Year (1999), RIIL Division I Coach of the Year (2003, 2007), RIIL Coach of the Year (2007) and RIIL Division II-A Coach of the Year (2015). Coach Sassi has led SRA to 4 Super Bowls, winning titles in 1999 and 2007.
The program has alumni currently playing for: Harvard, Utah State, Sacred Heart, North Carolina State, University of Rhode Island, Bryant University, and Norwich. Over the past decade, other SRA football alumni have played at Boston College, Temple, University of New Hampshire, Bucknell, Brown University, Nichols College, Bridgewater State, Dean College, Salve Regina, and Merrimack.
SRA Football does not cut any players that come out for the team. We welcome all to experience being part of the SRA football tradition.
Saints Jersey Fundraiser
The Saint Raphael Academy Football team is having a fundraiser to support the team in purchasing new uniforms for the 2017 season. SRA football will be selling former jerseys from teams between 1995 – 2010, including the 2007 Championship team. There are seven different styles. To contribute to this fundraiser, jerseys can be purchased below or make a direct donation. Please list a few options for jersey numbers in the box provided and we will give every effort to accommodate. Numbers are on a first come, first serve basis.
