Application Process

Applicants for the Class of 2021:

.
If you are currently a student in grade 8 and are interested in applying for acceptance into the Academy’s Class of 2021, which begins grade 9 in the fall of 2017, the application process is relatively simple:

  • First, download, print, complete, and mail in the Application for Admission to the Admissions Office at Saint Raphael Academy (123 Walcott Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860). Please ensure that you include the $35 application fee, which covers all costs associated with the processing of an application and the Entrance Test, and the two-page application, and the Transcript Release Statement.

Once a complete application for admission is received and the applicant has taken the Entrance Test, the Admissions Office will request the applicant’s transcript and a recommendation from the applicant’s current school. Once the applicant’s complete transcript and recommendation are received, the applicant will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee.

The first round of letters indicating the Admissions Committee’s decisions will be sent out in January 2017 for applicants to the Class of 2021.

In order to be notified of the Admissions Committee’s decision on January 27, 2017, the application must be received by December 23, 2016. Applications received after December 23, 2015, will be considered on a rolling basis and will require at least 10 business days after receipt of the applicant’s transcript and entrance test scores before a decision is rendered.

Please note that while all applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships during the admissions process, if you wish to be considered for need-based financial aid, you must complete a separate need-based financial aid application. More information about financial aid can be found here.

Transfer Applicants:

.
If you are a student who is currently attending another high school and you are interested in transferring to the Academy for grade 9, 10, or 11, the application process is simple.

Just download, print, complete, and mail in the Application for Admission to the Admissions Office (123 Walcott Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860). Please ensure that you include the $35 application fee, which covers all costs associated with the processing of an application, and the final page of the application, the Transcript Release Statement.*

Once a completed application is received, the Admissions Office will request a copy of the applicant’s transcript and a recommendation from the applicant’s current school. After the initial evaluation of the transcript and recommendation, the Admissions Office may choose to contact the applicant to schedule an interview with the applicant, parents/guardians and members of the Admissions Committee. After the conclusion of the interview, the applicant will be notified of the Admissions Committee’s decision.

Please note that while all applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships during the admissions process, if you wish to be considered for need-based financial aid, you must complete a separate need-based financial aid application. More information about financial aid can be found here.
