Saint Raphael Academy senior Trevante Jones

Trevante Jones

Trevante, a senior at Saint Raphael Academy, has been a member of the football and basketball teams all four years of his high school career, and was captain of both teams this year. A key player for SRA’s Division I team, he was named to USA Today’s 2016 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Rhode Island Football Team, First Team, Defense; and also named to the Providence Journal All-Division Football Team, First Team (LB/DB/WR); and received the Coaches Association – All-Division, Division 1A, First Team – Defense (LB) award. He was also named RIIL Athlete of the Month in November.

His basketball recognitions include not only joining the ranks of players who have scored 1,000-plus points in their high school careers, but also being named to the Providence Journal All-State team—RIBCA All-State, Second Team; Division I-North, First Team; and Division I Top 10, Second Team.

Not surprising, Trevante is very focused on sports. He has been active with RIIL, as a member of the Student Advisory Board and a participant in the RIIL Student Leader Workshop and Leadership Conference. He also volunteers with youth football and basketball camps at the Providence Boys and Girls Club, and worked at summer sports camps for the City of Providence. In addition, Trevante is an honor roll student at the Academy.

A resident of Providence, Trevante plans to study kinesiology in college.
